In my opinion, it's harder to do a bridal show than to do a fashion show. In fashion, it's cool when the hair is messy, but in bridal, if it's messy, it looks like a mistake. The gowns are so elaborate and perfect that if the updo isn't working or there are too many flyaways or pins showing, it's awful. The worst is when a model shows up with dirty hair. The shows are usually very early in the morning—Carolina Herrera asks me to come at four a.m.!—and if a model had a blast a few hours before, it doesn't do anything good for her hair. In that case, we shampoo her in the bathroom sink or do what we can with dry shampoo.
